I'm a pretty nerdy guy, but I'm having trouble getting my head around sending an OSC signal from Quartz Composer to Resolume Arena.
My end goal is to control parameters in Resolume (such as speed, scale, etc) via the Xbox Kinect running through Synapse > Quartz > OSC signal > Resolume. But I don't neccasarily need an example related to the Kinect. But if someone could CLEARLY explain how to send a single OSC signal from Quartz into Resolume I'd be eternally grateful. I have a live show coming up in 10 days and I would love to have this working in time. Cheers guys and gals. |

Thanks mate! You are a muppet and scholar.
![]() But seriously, I don't see why this was so hard for me to find out. I found the Resolume manual went into the nitty gritty detail of how to format the OSC arguements, but didn't give a simple enough example of how to actually implement one. I dunno, I could just be a little dense. Thanks again. |

Quick question.
I want to control the scale, but I want to limit the range to 100.0 - 500.0 (as opposed to 0.0 - 1000.0 as that's too extreme. How do I format the OSC input to do that? Resolume shows the scale input like this: "/composition/video/scale/values (Float 0.0 - 1.0) range (0.0 - 1000.0)" But I don't actually know how to format the command to limit the range. Would this still be a 'float' type in Quartz or one of the other types? Thanks again! UPDATE: I realised I could limit the range within Resolume (rather than in the OSC input command) by clicking to the left of the parameter I wanted to limit (in this case 'Scale') and from the pop-up box I chose 'Timeline'. I then paused the timeline and then set the lower limit to '100%' and the upper limit to '500%'. Last edited by mrclarkson; 20th August 2012 at 08:52 AM. Reason: Update negates post |

Is it also possible to do more things than parameters in Quartz composer?
I would like to be able to trigger clips or columns when you make certain moves. |

Yes, this is possible.
If you go into Application Mapping mode in Resolume, you can click on any parameter or other GUI element, and you will see the OSC address in the bottom left. So, for instance, triggering clip 1 in layer 1 can be done by sending 1 to /layer1/clip1/connect/ |
