Are you using Philips Ambilight / AmBX or is that a DIY clone ?

no the ambilight is just a TV, right?
This is MUCH bigger. 1.6m across. Made using controllable LED strip and currently running an effect in VDMX which sends the DMX info out to the LEDs via a dmx over artnet patch in Quartz composer. Soon i will have a much simpler "plug 'n' play" version which will simply take a DVI input. |

Got a ball park figure for a 'to buy' cost yet? That is IF you plan on selling them to others!

For the price: http://learn.adafruit.com/adalight-d...nt-tv-lighting
How do you plan to do a DVI input? This is a lot harder then your computer sending the good signals to the arduino (through serial). |

yeah i have a ball park figure but i'm keeping that in my head til i have an accurate one.
My one doesn't use arduino, though perhaps it would work just as well. I wanted to be able to make one which could be used as a VJ screen so this plays straight out of VDMX, resized youtr content to 16:9 if necessary and does all the pixel mapping of the LEDS around the screen at the same time. |
