Hi
Can't get my head round image ghosting issues with our Sanyo PLC-XM150L's and was wondering if anyone has encountered the same issues with the PLC range or could suggest something I may have missed. The ghosting is more pronounced/ noticeable with blacks and nothing I have tried so far has helped the problem. Have tried: 2011 MBP and iMac: Thunderbolt > VGA and DVI 2009 MBP: Mini Displayport > VGA and DVI Non Unibody MBP: VGA, DVI and composite PC Laptop > VGA A variety of refresh rates, native resolutions and non native resolutions. New cables, various display adapters. Analogue and digital signals. We have this issue accross 6 different PLC-XM150L's and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated at this point. Thanks Dean |

Hi Deep
Sorry for not being clear, ghosting was all I could think of yesterday. Please see attached image, sorry it is a little busy but this is the only photographic example I have to hand. I have marked a few of the trails out with arrows. In the left hand third of the image, you can see that the solid black lines are leaving trails. Reminds me a little of the trace effect in M8 or even that Windows option to display pointer trails. I only have this problem with the Sanyos, our other projectors are fine and I'm left scratching my head at this point. ![]() Thanks Last edited by deanbob; 28th June 2012 at 01:32 PM. The picture you use to show the problem is maybe not the most suitable, being an abstract mosaic.
are you sure the lines are not in the movie and maybe the other projectors are not sharp enough to show them? Did you check on a monitor? Did you check different beamers at the same time? Did you try to switch cables between the beamers when you saw this? |

is this problem only on motion video?
is it consistent across different playback applications?

after reading through this a few times I can follow what you are saying. Looking at the image if you have a black square on white background you will have a thin black line offset to the right of the square. Usually with ghosting i will consist of repeats of the image appearing to the right of the original getting fader on each repeat. Odd to see such a definitive line though, first thing to do is fire up the PJ and bring up the menu, see if the menu has the same issue. If the menu is affected then the problem may lie with the PJ itself. If the menu is good then it may be a signal issue, use a pen and hit the reset button on the rear of the PJ to clear all the settings. As for inputs go for xga at 60hz over vga cable to see what happens.

I have uploaded a video to Vimeo which should give a clearer indication of what I'm on about; sorry I haven't been very clear at explaining and yup the photo was pap but that's all I had available at the time
![]() https://vimeo.com/45060271 [Pass: forum] You can see in the video that the mouse pointer leaves a little trail behind it, this affect/ effect [?!] is also visible if I play any motion video through the projectors. So this is a consistent issue. I have double checked on a Barco Dp2000, NEC NC800c, Mitsubishi XL6600U and a range of data projectors and also on a standard pc monitor, a 1080p LED/LCD TV and a 720p LCD TV with no issues. The following computers have been connected using a variety of refresh rates, native resolutions and non native resolutions. Brand new cables, old cables and various display adapters and analogue and digital signals. 2011 MBP and iMac: Thunderbolt to both VGA and DVI 2009 MBP: Mini Displayport to both VGA and DVI Non Unibody MBP: VGA, DVI and composite PC Laptop to VGA The only projectors with this issue are 6 of our Sanyo PLC-XM150L. I have reset to factory defaults so I can possibly rule out any weird image processing that might be attributed to corner correction etc. Oh and the menu's look ok to me, no weirdness there. Should have some V3 hippos arriving mid week so I'll connect them up aswell; tbh I don't think I have noticed this issue with them before so will report back with any findings. Thanks again for your time |

cursor looks blue to me.
possible one of your chips is out of line. have you tested the convergence? |

Thanks Deep am looking into convergence now. I think we would be incredibly unlucky to end up with six projectors, all with chips out of line but I'm not ruling the possibility out.
Typically Sanyo have pulled support for the UK, so I'm pestering Panasonic; who are apparently sub-contracting for them now. I'll leave it with them and see if they can come up with anything. Thanks for the suggestions

If convergence was the issue you would also see it in the menu's and on static images. As this unit has video delay and noise processing options check these and also see what image resolution and hz the projector thinks its recieving. Sanyo have been brought out by Panasonic so you will have to deal with them now.
