Hey guys, i just got booked to do a electronic event for kids, it will take place in the day time, so im planning on using plasma screens(led is too expencive here)
i was hoping to do something interactive in the likes of letting the kids do drawings and then scanning them, if you know of anyone who has done something like this i would love to see it and get some inspiration

There was an installation at Ars Electronica in... about 2008 (?.. yegads, seems long ago now that I was there) that encouraged people to draw things with textas then put them in the special/magic photocopier... your drawings were then animated on a screen.
I don't of course know/remember who that was, but it's definitely been done, so you should be able to find someone who has done it. -spxl |

Try using modul8 and the painter module, you can set frames as you draw by pressing space if I rmember correctly.
http://www.modul8.us/?p=104 also alchemy is free software which allows you to draw 'live'. http://al.chemy.org/ I've used this and VDMX together as VDMX has the functionality to catch other application windows

Long time no see Anders, and I know this is probably too late. Just wanted to share something:
In 2009 I went to Esbjerg Music Conservatory and they setup and electronic music program for kids. One station involved 4 drawing tablets, each with their own sound. If you used the eraser on the other side of the pen, you would get another sound, so 8 sounds total with parameters changing on a x/y value. It worked basically as a midi controller. Maybe this could be something, just translated to video.
