yes it is.

midi mapping is to the clip, not the clip slot. this means that it is impossible to map a controller so that it ALWAYS matches the physical layout to the onscreen layout.

I want to midi map the clip slots in the application map and i cannot.
I want to be able to load in whatever media an instantly trigger from midi - i cannot
I want to drag and drop media from one clip slot to another (possibly on a different layer) I do not want to copy the midi mapping,I want the clip slots to be mapped not the clips.

Not sure what your on about here? Are you talking about processing?

Ok, now I think I understand you.

I'm writing my own program for processing, and I'm using processing for this (I now programmed 2 banks (bank 1 is clip 1 to 8 and bank 2 is clip 9 to 16)). I want to use OSC feedback for this but the OSC in resolume also has some flaws.
Now I have to go back to MIDI feedback, but it would be a lot easier with OSC.

The osc feedback for the clips seems to work fine on touch osc

Tom, if you go to application mapping and select 'deck' focus you can map all your clips and you don't have to worry for doing that again.
Were you aware of the 'deck' focus or have you got other problems, i do agree though that we made the mapping too complex, fiddly.

As a new user of Resolume I did find the midi mapping a bit strange to begin with.
Why did you make app and composition modes?
I look forward to trying out a few different controllers soon.
