Default Codec issue

Hi Folks ,

I have most of my clips stored on a hard drive ,

If I plug the harddrive into my older mac (10.5.8) I am able to preview most of the movies/clips without any issues using the space bar but it seems on my more up to date mac running mountain Lion 10.7.2 even some of the .mov files wont play.

I have flip for mac installed and Perian , is there another codec pack I can install that will allow these to work again ?

Thanks for any help , it will be greatly appreciated .

Do you know what codec you used for those files that do not work with Lion?

You can use the free iMediaHUD to get this info.

Also, make sure Perian and Flip4Mac are the latest versions compatible with Lion.
Perian especially can sometimes cause problems when not up-to-date.
