Further details of AVIT UK 2003

okay guys,

Avit UK o3 is all starting to come together, and so there are a few
things we the avitcore would like to make clear to potential attendees.

Avit UK 03 is all about learning from each other, teaching and
sharing skills, both with each other and to show ppl who dont really understand what vj ing is about.

We are looking to provide two sets of computers for the workshops. mac and pc, and a venue for practical skills workshops such as rigging and camera
skills.

There will also be more theory based workshops and a demo space for products and another space for panel discussions, as well as a trade hall with stands from hardware, software and content suppliers, as well as some more varied local businesses such as record shops and streaming suppliers etc. (so anyone who wishes to have a trade stand please contact
promotion@avit.org.uk)

A lot of the audience we are trying to get are students, particularly those in media areas, and academics who teach these subjects.


We are gonna be trying to cover travel and accomodation for participants at AVIT, but that is entirely dependant on Arts Council Funding which we wont know about for a few weeks yet.

But when and if the money does become available, we will be
allocating expenses first and foremost to those who are coming to avit to teach and share knowledge.

Look on the performing at avit as the bonus that goes with the more important and serious mission of trying to raise our industry to a new level through education, both of the general public and each other.

We are going to be charging an admission fee for avit UK 03,(the
trade stands and demo area will be free admittance )

3 day conference ONLY pass- ?20
-includes everything except Friday night

1 day conference pass ?10
-access to all areas* for 1 day,
-ticket to lunchtime gig

Open screen show ONLY (Thursday night) ?5

On the saturday night there will be AVIT VJ's
playing in just about every club in Brighton.

Tickets prices for these are all down to the individual
clubs/venues and are not included in any AVIT ticket package.

We are offering all of the above at half price for students etc. and
also at half price for anyone who is lending us equipment (so if you have projectors, screens etc, available please contact tech@avit.org.uk)

Also if we get the complete funding package weve applied for then we will be refunding most if not all of these costs


*limited numbers workshops will be signed up for on a first come
first served basis. half beforehand through VJC and half on the day


Also something else to be aware of is that although the conference takes place thursday to saturday, We are planning a social event on the sunday for VJC members in a local restaurant with NO visuals Including the Prizegiving for the Inaugural Avit Golden Tbar awards so book flights etc. accordingly.
