Default Fucking thief - need a car mount quick

Aloha

I just found out some fuckface stole my d300s with my 10-24mm lens along with my car mount. To make things worse I really needed that car mount / camera for a project next week. Any one have any idea where a can buy / rent a bogan suction mount in NYC ? I could kill some one right about now. $3000 worth of shit gone along with some great shots. Motherfuckers I hope you die. I can I can try and call the police / pawn shops and see if it has been found. Sorry for the anger. I am just beyond chaffed.

Hi Sean,

That's really bad news. Sorry about that, I know how much time and money you have put into your kit for this cross country adventure.

Visit B&H Photo in Manhatten. They have vehicle mounts of all types.

how horrid.

nikon rumours say it's going to be 2012 before the next version of the d300
you might want to think about switching to canon if its all gone.

Losing the gear must hurt, but losing the shots ..... you don't get that back on the insurance.

So do I - So do I

Ok well all is not lost. I was able to find the bottom of the suction mount that had the manufacturers name on it. I called the company and was able to get one shipped out for delivery on Monday at half price of what i paid for it originally.

I reordered a new lens - that was not cheap.
I have an additional d300s and two d80's and a shit load of lenses so I am kind of locked into the nikon brand.

DeepVisual - I thought about selling it all and moving over to Canon. From what I understand they are 3 years ahead of nikon. But I would take such a loss selling the equipment I voted against it for now. I did have an old digital rebel and that camera took great pics. I think that old camera took better pics then the higher end nikon. Then again I like that the nikon has a built in level and timer.

I filed a police report and started to scan the pawn shops. I also am checking ebay and craigslist. I placed a reward ad if found, etc. I doubt I will ever see it again, but at least I tried. I bet it was traded from a $20 rock. South Florida sucks a big wang - now I remember why I moved

How do I get insurance on this stuff?

well, you have a decent enough video camera, so there is no benefit really.
I've decided to never use DSLR video, its just such a major step backwards.

The only time I use the DSLR is for time lapse pic sequences. It works really well for that. I think the quality is better then the ex3 plus i have more latitude when fine tuning the pic. Plus shooting at 12 MP allows me to do zooms, etc. Using the DSLR for video - Blahhh - looks like total crap. I have seen a few shoots were they were using dslr for video. All that comes to mind is that you will be sorry later.
