Hello there. We are novices who are wanting to create some videos for a party using VJ software and need some help choosing the right tool for our needs.
We want to be able to import all the usual formats (quicktime, MP4, Flash, etc) add effects and create a series of movie clips that we can play on our HD screens at a party. We will not be mixing live and the output must be HDTV. We played around with the ArKaos this morning but can't find anything in the documentation about to save an output as a movie file for playback. Can someone help point us to a software product that would allow for at least 4 layers and will export in MP4HD that we can create videos with as novices? PC operating system. Thanks! |

also, you can use screen recording software like fraps to save output from programs that don't support it natively (provided you have a display surface capable of your desired output res).

Hi,
If you are not doing a live performance, you may be better off using a video editing program like Adobe premier, Adobe aftereffects, or final cut pro, etc. |

If I was not planing on mixing the video live, I too would be making it in after effects or Final Cut. You can add most VJ effects to After Effects rather easy. The Freeframe plugin host for After effects at petewarden.com will help you do this. Go looking for some free HD loops and add effects to them for a bit of fodder. Could be something to suit at thecliparchive.com/
You would help us give you better help, if you told us what OS you are using and any bits of equipment you may already have. Cameras ? HD recordrers ? Good luck.

'The Rev' created by those wonderful guys at relentless, is a simple to use and visually stunning visualizer plug in for your iTunes, I would definitely suggest giving it a go.
Have a look at, http://www.relentlessenergy.com/features/view/the-rev and for some more visual ideas they also have this, http://www.relentlessenergy.com/feat...nd-goes-visual |

The REV is hardly the solution they are after. I'm sure there is no export to MP4HD. know I would not be playing it at a party.
I'll admit it's the REV is a nice visualizer but that's all it is, if you want a good visualizer go get R4 or Morphyre, throw your itunes in the rubbish. And get Winamp.
