a recent edit i made tonight using original visuals.
only worked on this for about 3 hours. i need to start applying more time to the editing side of things. there's a number of times where some visuals show within the frame because they were not resized .. i let that be the case for now to avoid extra-long render time. |

The stuff looks really nice, is it your own original art work? Cut it to music and fix the non resized bits. And consider making it shorter. Are you using it as a reel? In that case edit it down to max 4 minutes. The hand drawn trees and flowers where the movement looks like it's manipulated with a midi controller looks really nice (what software/hardware did you use?). Sometimes when the analog mixes with the digial it looks a little bit wack.
Good work!

yes, all original artwork, and the animations where the midi movement style is showing .. well, that is merely keyframes in AE; and then, i retime the animation again using Premiere. the concertina animations of trees in the forest are a number of compositions, all in the one AE comp .. individual trees move left and right, a camera in each comp has keyframed movement too. the comps are laid side by side, the far right composition is switched horizontally, made about 60 percent wide .. then, all comps are resized horizontally over say five seconds - by selecting all of them and resizing manually - the difference in starting width creates a concertina effect. i filmed the surf with a Lumix, 30fps, retimed and made 25fps to edit nicely with the other clips on a 25fps Premiere timeline. analog/digital mix wackness surely must be edited out of the composition, i shall search and find any non-cool video parts and promptly remove them. love the idea of editing the visuals to a song or dance track .. and the idea of a showreel is novel, nice idea .. although i do notice that social interaction seems to generate more work than a nice showreel. the visuals were edited as part of a series of five 8 minute clips, all designed to be mixed realtime - each one is a 'mix' and yet incomplete - to made into a visual experience realtime using vj software. i like to see variation and visual journeys, and so therefore the main idea is to start preparing adventurous visual journey mixes, some even with a hinted story line... then remix realtime using software/hardware.
