VJ Submissions for Looking Sound Fringe Event
Looking Sound (LS) has secured an event at 2010's Brighton Fringe Festival. A visual/audio installation spanning across one day and night at one of Brighton's well known venues Riki Tiks. The concept of the event will explore different sound and music influencing live artists work/performance and selected visual pieces will be displayed throughout the day. Without disclosing too much information the event will be split into two segments during the day and one main event in the evening. One of the day segments is a subject of selected Visual artists’ work that has been influenced by pre listening to a bespoke audio soundtrack. This will be displayed through a multi projected rig at the venue throughout the day. This will also include a live interactive dynamic where members of the public can trigger audio and visuals together creating a spontaneous live performance. Looking Sound is calling for visual submissions for this day segment. Pre the event, chosen artists will be given a short audio piece (approx 5 mins) and asked to relay their visual interpretation of the sound they hear. Artists work will be played on loop throughout the day event. The audio that is given to the artists will have familiar structures that have been played within different electronic music scenes, mainly Dubstep, Breaks, Drum and bass orientated. The audio provided will also be a bespoke piece for the event created by established and recognised producers such as http://www.myspace.com/scanone http://www.myspace.com/blackmassplastics to name but a few! All artists that show interest in submitting work will be considered for this unique event and the final selected artists will be chosen within the next two weeks (Approx 1st April 2010). Being a free entry event we can only ask that artist would be able to submit their work free of charge. Artists work will be accredited, tagged and projected before each piece starts exposing your name at the Brighton Festival Fringe 2010 or you can remain anonymous. Event programming and usual marketing materials and online promotions will also help create awareness of all artists participating. So whether you’re a VJ, Animator, Short movie maker, Graphic Designer, (all of the mentioned) or any other style of visual artist, Looking Sound would like to hear from you. If interested in exhibiting or require more event info please contact info@lookingsound.com with examples of your work. Thanks for you time and look forward to hearing from you LS Crew www.myspace.com/lookingsound ![]() Last edited by VSS2; 17th March 2010 at 07:59 PM. |
