Hi Jockeys ![]() My first post on this fantastic forum. Im a beginner to VJ-ing and Im in search for the perfect user-friendly stable and most of all beautiful output giving software. 1. I just stumbled upon a free software tool voor windows called Elektronika and I was wondering if you guys have any experience with this piece of software. I have my very first live Gig on the 27th of April on this awesome party supporting a DJ. The setup will be 2 great HD beamers and a huge HD LCD screen. I really want to show off on that party cause it can give me more performances if all goes well. I tried Arkaos VJ 3.5 but it feels old and out dated. since I dont have any midi equipment it just isnt working for me. 2. I make most of my own material with a HD cam and 3d studio max. I could really use you guys opinion on this. I have to use free software cause Im against desanctifying copyright laws. I would love to support software builders but because Im new to this I dont want to spend 500+ dollars on software I wont like after using it. So Please assist in my quest for the perfect tool for some nifty visuals 3. Just adding some of my ideas I made awesome screencaptures of scrolling numbers(ASCII) and filmed clouds over a 48h timelapse Hope you can help me out Check you later P.s to the admins > Good work on this forum people. I love it

Welcome!
Great to have new people here! All awesome, great and huge VJ apps have trial versions. Try and buy. The reason I do not name any is because often it depends of the style of you visuals. And these recommendations are asked almost every week. Search for word *noob* and *just starting*. http://vjforums.com/showthread.php?t...highlight=apps Last edited by vanakaru; 11th March 2010 at 11:49 AM. |

Hya,
Ive been scanning the forum but I still cant decide on what to use. Im the noob of all noobs ![]() Ofcourse I want to buy a application. But I first need to make some more money before I can afford such a huge investment in software. Untill that time Ill probable have to manage with the free apps like Elektronika. Thanks for your advice though I really appreciate it. |

Hi Guys,
Im back after 2 days of heavy editting and trying software out So far so good, I used a couply of try-before-you-buy versions of Resolume, Elektronika, GrandVJ. Tried the free Moonster and I must say these programs all have there good sides and bad sides. My award to best VJ software because of its userfriendlyness and Userinterface goes to *drum roffle* Resolume Avenue ... I just love to look and feel of this program and I think im gonna buy it this week. I have to rob the bank first, but when I succeed I see myself making those awesome programmers very happy Still have a few questions about Resolume Avenue though *looks at the admin* Is it okay to ask in this thread or would you like me to start a new one with Resolume noob questions ? Ive read the manual and bumped into a few trialversion restrictions... which I would love to discuss. Searching on Resolume on this forum didnt help me much (no threads detected please try again in 15 seconds :S) My appreciation goes out to the creators of this forum and the people who helped me this week with those awesome links. Thanks guys & gals |
