Hi!
Basically, Im looking for architectural/3D mapping tutorials which works for most applications. I use modul8 myself. Just some cool tricks to get started, some ideas and inspiration. Some tips how to create content for architectural/3D mapping etc. |

i'd like to separate between mapping and masking. the difference is that in masking, you're only defining two dimensional areas of your target surface. if you use keystoning or other distortion filters, or if your geometry is fairly simple, you can get good results (indistinguishable from "real" mapping). here's deepvisual's tutorial:
this technique will do fine for most buildings and can be adapted to most vj apps i know of. however, if you're working with complicated geometry, or want to get interaction with your projection surface beyond the level that's possible with masking, you'll need to have a 3d model of your target geometry. in that case, i recommend checking out vvvv.org's How-to Project on 3D geometry. it's for vvvv, but the principles can be applied to any suitably sophisticated piece of software. |

Do you think I could make a 3D model like that in modul8, or final cut? Or should I try to learn quartz composer.
And since we are on the tutorials subject. Do any of you know of any good tutorials? Some cool tricks and such. I know of VJ kung fu, which is great. Anybody care to share some resources? |
