Hey guys,
Thanks a lot, that really clarifies it for me. I'll stick to VGA and get a quality scan convertor and give the analog signals a shot for collaborating with people who use videos mixers. I really appreciate this expert advice. VGA is confusing - how it's defined as both digital and analog depending on what you read. Anyway... the research continues.

I regularly send HD resolutions over 'VGA' cable (RGBHV) and breakout to BNC connectors.
