NEC NP2150g Projector fault

Has anyone out there experienced any problems changing bulbs on this projector? The timer ran out on the bulb and then next time i went to use it it refused to fire and the lamp indicator went red showing that I needed to replace the bulb, I did and now it still won't fire. I know you need to reset the timer when you change the bulb but I cant even get the thing on.
