remember to add 17.5% for VAT which you will (probably) get charged by customs when the mixer comes into the country. also remember that US equipment will not have a uk warranty

I'm guessing that a big uk Panasonic dealer will be able to do it cheaper... try creative video http://www.creativevideo.co.uk or someone...

Hmmn. It appears that www.creativevideo.co.uk do not stock the Panasonic AW-SW350 video mixer. In fact i would be surprised to find out if it is available in the UK at all. HOWEVER, the nice man at creativevideo that I spoke to on the phone reccommended that i could buy two edirol v4's (and a korg entrancer) for around ?2000 (my budget), and just daisy cain the V4's for the same number of channels/layers.

(Which is basically what you told me to do a few months ago anyway Tom (whoops - i guess i should have listened back then i suppose))

Just wanted to bounce this off u guys before I go ahead with the sequence of selling and buying: Is two V4's really the cheapest/best way to get 3 layers going on? Is the entrancer worth it (i've only just started looking at it)?

I heard that the V4's have issues with being layered up. Is this true (i suspect not.)

Any help is much appreciated,

All the best,

Vish.

I/we frequently daisy chain up V4's... generally two of them, but I've had up to 3... complete with h/w feedback with no issues.

Surely it depends depends on a few factors.

If you need a tight reaction time for your visual output then the more sources you run though the more delay the visuals will have on the screen.

3 V4 and that is 3*50hz or 0.02 seconds*3==0.06 seconds. A/V stuff might suffer at that unneeded delay.

Also I imagine the quality of the additional feed will not look as nice as a custom designed mixer solution.

Speculation here but I do not see how it could look better.

But for 2k maybe the best solution.
