hi all... do any of you fellow vj's have any ideas of what content we could play on a 90's music based theme. we usually stick with our own content and some "mtv-style" vj'ing with music-clips on top of the music... but i think its a bit lame... does any of you have any fancy idea of what could be easily done to get a groovy 90's feeling !?? thanks for any advice

xmix style stuff (shit 3d cubes / tunnels with no fancy lighting / textures)
really over saturated colours (mmm purple and green) real oscollascopes with a camera pointed at them lasers UV lighting / stuff shot under uk with fluro juggling etc etc paint effect lowband umatic / hi8 long mixes rather than trigger trigger triggering clips (like you mixing between 2 VHS decks) tape to tape edit suites giess E that actually works but costs ?15!

I made a party similar to yours recently, and I used a lot of videos from 90's.
My favorite ones were prodigy ones, making an special atention on Kraftwerk group, because I think they were one of the vj's precursors with their videos and concerts. Special atention to the Model video clip. I used secuencies rom kraftwerk videos to make mine ones (robots specially) usin different programs to manipulate them (After Effects, Premiere and Resolume) I used a lot of photos from that perior too. |
