I just posted this question in the FAQ-department, but thought it might fit in here aswell:
My question is this: Do any know of some cheap dvd-player that goes in black when you pause it? Or doesn`t show the stupid PLAY-symbol when the button is pushed? Don`t know about you, but I find this frustrating. And it never says on the box if this is an option. Please give me a hint MartinFilm |

Hi,
I've tried many dvd players and the only ones i can trust for the black background and the ablilty to disable the onscreen operations are the Pioneer ones. Nonetheless, try them before buying ! Cheers, DR.

Thanx, but I know and tried the Pioneer, and I also know it`s expensive.

firstly ALL pioneer players that i have seen have had the ability to do black background and no OSD (not just their expensive "pro" players)
secondly ?70-80 (ie the price of a basic pioneer dvd player) is not expensive - if you think it is you should probably take up a cheaper hobby such as "smack the rat"
