sorry, just mean what can be done to distort the signal. why does it only work with their vinyl? can the records be altered to effect the signal? can a broken stylus be used or mashed into the vinyl? can the signal be effected in-line between the turntables and software? i'm guessing the records produce a signal that the software reads, which can be applied to video.

All of the things you're talking about doing would just make it not work as well. The disc is feeding the computer some sort of timecode, which it is using to track position in software. If you mess with the signal, it just won't work.

Hmm, everyone is modding out turntables for scratching, but I would think the same principal would work with a CDJ... they're alot smaller.

yeh you could record the ms pinkey discs to cds and swap the decks for cdjs (you'd have to convert the cdj line output to a phono level but it should just work)

it will possibly only work on CDJ1000s or equivelent cd decks with vinal emulation.

features such as master tempo would confuse it.

but if you wanna vjscrew, either one will be good after you already tweak your clips a bit with some other gear (i got some shit thats been Dervish'd and now sounds like Big Pokey)
