Newbie Software question

I'm a mac and PC guy. Wondering what the best software package is for VJing. I'm computer literate and have a design background, but I also want to get my younger brother into it. Basically I need to know what the most stable and easy to learn realtime video mixing package out there is.

This question is a bit too general, everyone will just give you their favourite software as it has been done before. Did you check the VJCentral software reviews? Maybe you can then ask a more specific question if the reviews haven't cleared everything...
