Due to the growing nature of VJForums this forum is getting rather busy.
May I suggest some guidelines so your VJ event gets more exposure and targeted to the right people here. * This forum is designed for VJ events where many VJ's are playing or VJ's can apply to play or of special VJ events that the members here might find interesting. It is not designed for every event where just you are VJ'ing at otherwise this forum would be swamped. * Please try and put the Location (City & Country) & Event name & Date in the title of the thread. This will let the viewers see instantly the events in there area/timeframe without having to open the thread. * Please give full details in the thread about the event. If it is a club night? What is the admission fee? can other VJ apply to play? Opening times? Full address details, transportation links if applicable, etc. Generally basic information that a punter will need to go to the event.

quite good guidelines, Rova...
have to say, I agree with all of them, especially your point about posting events that give an opportunity for others forum VJs to participate... well done you, Ne1, ex-VJ Events moderator |

Is there any way to have:
date location (+ nearest city people will have heard of) event name as optional fields within that forum. THe motivation for adding this data (if known) is that items with dates could appear on a dynamic calandar or timeline (date sort) or very funky map (location sorted). Even if it just had: Title: Thread Title (as it does now) Subtitle: Standard Date/Time/Location on the usual forum page (rather than people entering dates at any point in the title) the it would be more readable. This would certainly get me to organise myself more and get to more events. Just suggestions. Alan |

I've been asking for a while now to add another thread,
which would be called "press" or the like, which would cover other VJ events that would not be an invitation to participate, but just to announce stuff, about to happen... Ne1 |

alan - the events section i've been promising forever in VJC will be up within a month or two, when the new code is finished. it will include all the things you suggested, i'm also thinking about putting an option which automatically alerts members by email of events in their area. in the meanwhile i think we can accomodate with this forum as it is, if people follow rova's guidelines.

Exhale, I wrote some php script for a page designed as a What's on for VJing in the uk with mail-by-area function etc. I havent had time to finnish the site yet, but if you are implementing it in VJC i can help you with the code etc, rather than starting a new site
PM me if ya interested

Yeah I agree with the guidelines too, however as there isn't any where at present for people to promote the gigs that they perform at, I don't see why they can't post them here until then.
