Hi There fellow VJ's! After a nice gig this weekend using the Roland V1600HD (nice but pure overkill) I had a nice chat with the sales girl from Roland Europe and she told me that any input I could give about VJ mixers seriously would be send thru to Japan for consideration, so have a thought with me, if we could put together an next model say the V12 which would be logical after the V4 and the V8, what features would we want...
My first thought was the same frame as the V8, but with scalers lots of scalers (wel 2 or 3) so we could use laptops instead of composite inputs and keep the resolution above PAL, maybe a splitscreen preview out and DVI in-outputs? give it a thought and please give me feedback, I will have contact with Roland about it so your help is appreciated! ![]() This thread is the result of a discussion on Facebook which you can read here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1868...2501396780230/ |

for the monitor out, it would be nice to be able to toggle on and off the GUI. i know you can do that if you press the main out preview button, but you have to hold it down.
some sort of sync input would be cool vga or some other form of output the main one for me: a monitor out where you could see all of the sources on one screen (built in multiplexer) |

Im about to take an entirely different approach to live video mixing.
http://vjanomolee.com/vjrig-neo one thing I still haven't figured out what Im going to do for is sending my final PGM signal out and to a TripleHead2Go for projection mapping. My current plan is to fit all this into a V8-like box with a Mac mini with the Blackmagic ATEM built in and an 8 inch touchscreen +buttons+sliders for also controlling the switcher. Im hoping to capture HDMI out of the switcher into the macmini and use projection mapping software to map onto the 3d sculptures. That would be cool for future products- to have projection mapping outputs built in. so a TripleHead2go-like functionality built in. |
