Hi there,
I'm a VJ from Holland and currently i'm researching some techniques to setup a audiovisual performance. The idea is that instead of only VJing I like expand my performance with some audiovisuals stuff. It means I'm also doing the audio and DMX control for a performance. Currently I'm looking for the right soft- and hardware setup. I'm used to do a lot of nineties party on which I'm VJing with a lot of original videoclip material correspponding to the played tracks. I'd like to sync the videoclips with the audio by Serato, provide some extra beats with Ableton (and make use of Albeton Bridge) and I like to add some extra visuals to give me some wiggle roon. So i figured id would be nice to use: + Serato Scratch Live (with MixEmergency plugin) for basic videoclip perfomances + Ableton Live 8 to make it more simple to create drumloops and basic sounds + Resolume Avenue for the crossovers between tracks and to show some cool other visuals Is this the right setup or am I missing some point? Does anyone have some experiences in seting up a system like i need?, please let me know what your thoughts are... Regards Henry Jalink VJ Genialink www.Escapation.nl |

Thnx for your reply. I'm not a big fan of the DVJ's. I'm looking for a system wich allows me to sync audio and video. I think Serato SL with timecoded cd might be worth trying.
Anyway thnx, Henry |

Have a look at the Denon x1600 mixer and 2x denon 3700 players to tie your audio to video. IMO there is no better setup for AV and I predict this will become an early AV standard. the x1600 has some powerful midi features and the latest firmware make it possible to send audio midi and layered midi at the same time from the same knobs and sliders. the x1600 also has Roland v-link and can talk nicely to a v4 or v8.
Hope this helps. |
