Default projector no signal

Hi,

Had a problem the other night with getting the projector to recognise my laptop.
No signal.
I set everything up properly and just dont understand whats wrong.
I have a Dell XPS but I dont know the model of the projector.

Does anyone know what the problem is? does this happen very often?

Cheers

its usually one of two things
either a bad cable/connection or

hum

this is caused by having the playback and the projector powered from different sockets.
the easiest way around this is to run power and signal cables up to the projector

I can safely rule out the bad cable connection anyway because another laptop was connected to the projector after I gave in and it worked fine.
Also my laptop is able to connect to other projectors no problem.

If the projector worked fine for any other laptop, does this mean it must be a problem with my laptop?

I hope its not the different sockets issue either. Its in a club, so no chance of the laptop and projector ever being able to connect to the same power source.

Cheers

ah, in that case, maybe you were sending the wrong signal.

try starting low at 800 x 600 and work your way up
the ideal size is the same size as the projector res.

Basically, yes, you are correct.

Try and connect your laptop up to other sources like your tv at home/monitor . What is the response there?

It is not likely that the projector is incapable with your laptop it is more like

Also update your video card drivers. If if are you up-to-date mayeb try and old one.
