I'd use vvvv, but any of the realtime apps like isadora, max/msp would do it, then again any 3d program or after fx would do it too. Its just texture coordinates on planes being change to the bass from the looks of it.

Cheers for the info, I use after effects with most of my work so I guess I'd be looking to use that. Are there any tutorials online that explain how to do this? Sorry to sound like such a noob but i dont know what key terms I should be searching for to find it myself

Yes, is the mac desktop.
You can do that almost with anything specially VJ software like Modul8. With After Effects is possible but you have to dig a bit to make the image to respond to the audio in such way. Actually... in After Effects can be very easy. Just fin the audio file, create keyframes from the audio file and assing those keyframes to any function you want.
