europeans coming to the uk,
remember (as i didnt) that uk has a different power plug type, and you will need adaptors. the actual power current and voltage is compatible with european gear. So bring european power strips, so that you only need one uk adaptor! If anyone has an extra european power strip that they could bring for me, I would be sooper grateful! I have a feeling they would be hard to find here, and dont really fancy buying 5 adaptors. -topher |

beeing a continental european myself living in the uk i have discovered that the new type of continental plugs called "euro" plugs i.e. two pin variety - does fit into a UK socket when suitably fiddled with. i don't neccessarly recomend this but if you forget and adaptor it is possible to get them to fit. obviously be carefull if you do this. if you poke the earth socked with something thin (and non-conducting!) it will open the safety catch that protects the two live pins that in most uk sockets. the round euro plug pins should the just fit into the square UK socked whole.
