The 580 is enough for most VJ apps, the 680 is not worth the extra money. There will most likely be other bottlenecks (cpu/memory/hard drive or ssd).

There are 3 pins, one in front and 2 at the back or 3 in a row. Measure the 2 at the back or the 2 at the ends (from a working potmeter).
