he's running ableton on the side... with a 1~1.5gb he's well served in terms of video already, and the 8thread processor or more regular ram gives him a greater boost for his needs imo...

i paid about that much for a xps17 L702x... it has a i7-2630 which means 8 threads instead of 4... but yeah if you're running two apps simultaneously its worth an i7
