Shall i tell a new competitor that has cropped up locally that his great idea of showing the World Cup matches on an outdoor 20ft wide screen with a 2500 ansi projector at 6pm in June in the UK may not be all he's expecting (in terms of image clarity, or visibility!), or shall i let him crash & burn and possibly face the wrath of a few hundred pissed off (and up) fat blokes in team shirts?

I've searched quite a bit on this forum but I haven't yet found an answer.

I am trying to manually control the image playback from the picture manager node in a FXC. How is it possible to go forward and back in the sequence of images? Is it possible to use the left and right arrows some how?

Thanks for any advice!
Cheers.

I released this quietly in the developer's area a few mos ago, but now I'm semi-officially releasing it to all.

You can see the effect and download it here:

http://methodart.blogspot.com/2010/0...kinson-on.html

I was waiting for a year to elapse from when I provided it to the band the Killers (they use it in their stage show), and that's about now.

"Releasing it" in this context means providing a binary for download which some people have used successfully in VJ apps supporting FF 1.0. Unfortunately I don't have time for supporting it in any meaningful way. Ya gets whatcha gets.

If you dig on this, you might like my other stuff, which you can see here:

http://methodart.blogspot.com/2009/0...-audition.html

The full source code has been released, but it's probably painful to build, since it has a bunch of external dependencies and is very lightly documented. If time permits (which it probably doesn't), I'll be releasing more binaries in the future.

That's all for now, except to say that if you use it successfully, I'd love to hear from you!

Cheers,

So I've been playing around with avenue again since they made it available on Mac.

Here is what I've done: I connect my analogue triplehead2go to my Macbook Pro 2.66 Everything works Good, I can get an image to span all three screens.

Then I fire up resolume avenue, and all my triple wide clips look very pixilated, that lead me to check what resolution my secondary display was outputting within resolume, and It is set to 640x480. I can't seem to change this? does anyone know what is the procedure to change the secondary display resolution?

Hello there,

I've been trying to understand more about modul8 lately and I've tried searched the forums for an answer to this question but I can't seem to find a proper response. I'm sorry if this has been asked several times already.

The problem is I'm trying to animate the Filter's Module 'knobs' - like a filter's intensity - with the sound input but I can't seem to find a way. The only way I see is to animate via BPM or by Speed, which is not quite what I want.

I'm not sure if I'd have to create a module for this or if there is one I can download.

Can anyone please help me with this?

Thanks in advance

ps: I've also created a similar thread at garagecube forums but I've got no answers till now so I hope it is ok to create another one here.

I need to automatically fade out a layer Resulume when a certain event happens on my computer. Currently I'm doing this through Python by sending Resolume the _ (underline) key 150 times, which fades out layout 1 a step at a time. The problem is a) it happens very very slowly (the entire fade takes about 10 seconds), and b) Resolume needs to be the topmost window. My program can set Resolume as the topmost window, but still, its all very duct tapey.

I'm wondering if anyone has any other clever ideas about how to automate Resolume? Sending midi signals strikes me as a much better solution, but so far I haven't had any luck with it. I found this module, but haven't successfully gotten it to send any notes yet: http://alumni.media.mit.edu/~harrison/code.html

Anyway, curious what types of systems people have come up with.

Hey all first time posting here.

Been Vjing for over a year now with a Macbook Pro (3 years old) but its finally started to show its age.

So now is the time for a replacement.

After browsing around I came the very recently released Alienware 11.6 inch m11x and the specs are a bit insane for such a small laptop. Check it out below.

Homepage

Intel Core Duo 1.3 GHz, 800 MHz, 3 MB

1GB GDDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT335M

500GB HArdrive

7200 RPM

4 GB Ram

and a load of output display ports

And all that for less than £900.

You cant find an equivalent Mac book pro (Spec wise) for any less than £1500 and even that only has 512mb Graphics. Not to mention its very portable at only 11.6 inchs.

2 questions.

1. What is your opinion in the laptop itself for use with VJ-ing?

2. Having been use to using Resolume and a Mac, what - if any - feelings do you have about changing to Windows and Resolume?

(Im not a fanboy of any, more of 'What ever gets the Job done best' boy)

Cheers All

Sam

This outdoor film festival counts this year its eleventh, will take place from June 30th until September 7th 2010, and with the attendance of over 40,000 viewers will screen features, documentaries, shorts, pocket movies and music videos. The outdoor movie projections start at 9.10 pm and last until full night; open air screenings rise in the Arena “Parco del Poggio” (Hill Park), the fabulous and picturesque site near Capodimonte Area in Naples / Napoli NA Italy.
It’s a special delight in order to enjoy cinema beneath the stars on warm summer nights in an amphitheatre equipped with one of the widest projection screens in Italy which rises having an artificial lake all around. These events really make people revive the movies each night of the Festival!
The admittance price is very cheap: Euro 3.50 per day. In order to see the program go to the official website: http://www.accordiedisaccordi.com
