hi everybody

we use a matrox G 450, and we heard a lot about the 550.
is there somebody here who tryed the 2, and could explain us the real difference between the 2 card ?
is the driver is more stable ?
is the speed difference is really importante ?

thanks by advance :-))

i think that there's no real difference between these 2cards ,except that 550 as dvi ouptut ,if you want more details ,check www.hardware.fr ,speed won't be more important with 550 as it has the same memory than 450 ,so what did matrox with the 550 ?a great mistake and a little update of the 450.
This as nothing to do with this thread but if you're still going to Festitalia in april ,do you know the dates,as if it's during the vacancy ,i may go and pick you up !
peace

from what i can tell, having a g400 and a g550,
from the 400 onward the developement of these cards has been less about increasing performance and more about keeping the same performance using cheaper processes/parts.
there is as far as i can tell no difference in the perfomance of a g400 and a g550 but the g400 is a damn sight more stable (as long as u use the old drivers which support only the 400, and dont get suckered into using newer drivers which "support" all three)
