Does anyone know if Edirol are coming to Avit this year?

They were at the last one in Brighton and were selling V4's at a discount.

It would be very nice if they could offer a similar or better discount at this years festival

we are hoping that the trade fare will include all of the top VJ hardware and software manufacturers and that these manufacturers will take the opportunity to meet there user base and perhaps offer some special offers or discounts to people attending AVIT.

Last time Phil Palmer of edirol said avit was the only opportunity manufacturers have to meet the VJing market and as such it is a vital event for manufacturers to attend.

so it would seem likely that edirol will have a presence again this year - hopefully along side the likes of Pioneer, Korg, Numark and Gemini as well as all your favourite VJ software producers.

Has anyone written to TVONE how they've bought Vine Micros?

Seems all that they done to the excellent Vine scan converters is paint them black!

dunno - sponsership / trade show packs are being sent out at the moment so now's the time to list any other companys that might be worth contacting.

People whos equipment I use but are unlikly to come but may be interesting to talk to (i.e. get them thinking about VJ market - even sending a pack might do this):

Microsoft (Someone from DirectX labs?)

Kiss (makers of DVD players/LCD screens, have said they will make custom DVD players if there is a market)
Canon (cameras & ptz cameras)


I'm sure I'll think of more when I've had a sleep; was up most of night coding a basic video shot detection filter.

COmpanies for the trade show.

Projector manufactures

Light rig manufactures. Esp those with DMX stuff involved in them. I know they are interested in adding sample/computer visuals to the portfolio.

Computer manufactures. (Shuttle, etc). I know shuttle are involved this year with the equipment side of things so inviting too many other companies/rivals may be problematic.

One thing to bear in mind is that it doesn't have to be only big companies that make use of the trade fair.

We'll be demonstrating our freeframe plugins (I hope the other freeeframe developers will too), I expect the VJ app developers wil be out in force and it would be great to see other people from within the VJ scene demonstrating their wares too...

Edirol will be at AVITUK05 this year and they will be demonstrating their new product on the friday during the trade show :)
