I will be rear projecting on a screen which is 3.2 m x 5.3 m (10' 7" x 16' 6"). I'm projecting from a distance of 6-10m. Is there anyone who can tell me how powerful the projector needs to be or could anyone tell me how one calculates how powerful a projector one needs for different tasks.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers,

Not sure, it is seethrough, probably quite a good one, since it's being electronically controlled.

There is some but not much
are you competeing with lazers / big lighting rig? Not between the projector and the screen but there will be quite alot of lights and smoke machines on the other side of the projections. I will be projecting from the back through the screen onto a stage and on the stage there will be bands and DJs. When the bands are playing there will be spotlights directed onto the stage.

i'd say you need 4000 - 6000 lumens then if you want the video to be really impressive.
get there early so you can tell the lighting guy that you don't want his lights to point directly at the screen while hes setting them up
