View Full Version : How to make video cut-ups?

Is there any simple way of getting a bunch of clips, cutting them into 1 second chunks, and then interleaving them together?

I get the sense that the chopping can be done in VirtualDub, but then appending the resulting subclips together becomes a laborious process.

might be able to do it with a script in Vegas? I haven't messed with that much yet.

there is commerical set of aftereffects plugins [also working in premiere pro] - sapphire plugins by genarts - which has 'random edit' plugin, doing just what you want [doing pretty slowly though]

i wonder by the way how would you cut clips automatically in virtualdub? this looks like involving some programming to create corresponding vdub script files

something like this?

SetEventLengthAndCrossfade (http://users.rcn.com/rofrano/Video/Vegas_Scripts/SetEventLengthAndCrossfade.js)
This Vegas script will set the length of all the selected events and crossfade them by the amount specified.

Theres a script for Vegas which Ive been trying to use but can onlyt get to work in its standard "Video for Windows" frormat - which is "render on markers"

anyone el;se had success rendering to different formats other than VFW?
