Calling all VJs in London...
I'm a member of a great, original rock band based in London, UK.
We regularly perform gigs at top venues around London, have just completed the recording of our debut album and are pushing for a contract this year.
One of the things we have discussed is some more imaginative visual effects at gigs - usually you just make do with some third rate disco lighting rig at the venue.
I know absolutely nothing about VJing, so maybe this is a stupid request. However, what are the possibilities for teaming up with a VJ and running a combined set? Pink Floyd are one of our huge influences, so you can see where we're coming from.
Without a team of roadies etc. it's impossible for us to manage more than just our instruments and audio FX, so it would be an interesting experiment to team up with a VJ who can totally run that side of the show.
We could also get some good cross-over crowds to gigs who you wouldn't normally find at the average rock or VJ gig.
Perhaps this is totally unreaslistic and you need a venue dedicated to VJ needs. Anyway, some feedback would be great.
You can check out our stuff on www.kingrat.net. A lot of it is quite rock/pop, but we could compose collaborative material that is potentially easier to VJ to.
Who knows?!
