graphedit being annoying... help?

OK,

On my brother's PC I learnt how to use GrapEdit to test my filtergraphs.

Now I'm on my PC and whilst I can get the graphs working somethig has changed.

GraphEdit will not show me perperty pages for any pins on filters.

I repeatedly get an error saying "The requested property page could not be displayed".

This is slowing down my work as I would like to know what formats are supported on each pin (and thus construct graphs in a non-trial and error way).

Anyone with any insight, please speak up.

OK, got it.

The installation routine had not copied the necessary dll to the system directory, neither had it registered it.

A silly waste of my time.
