Hi,
I'm looking for a videomixer with 12 inputs.
We will be using 10 live (mini) cam's and 2 laptops.
The laptops wil have Resolume on it and are only being used for the AVI playback, some effects and AVI loops.
Does somebody know the kind and type of videomixer we can use ??
We also want to use a projector behind the screen in a live setup, but how much ANSI lumen should we use ?
The screensetup is 1.8 x 2.2 mtr, the projector is 4 mtrs from the screen.
As mentioned, the projector is behind the screen, and there is some impressive lighting equipment.
Thanks :)

there are no cheap video mixers that have this number of inputs
i would use a 4 input mixer (eg panasonic MX50) and 2 CCTV switches with 6 inputs each -
plug all the cameras into the CCTV switches (make sure that any 2 cams that you wish to be able to mix between are in difrent switches)
Plug the cctv switches into the mx50
Plug the laptops into the mx50
that way you can mix between both laptops and a lot of the cameras (with carfull planing it will be nearly as good as a 12 input mixer)

Hi Sleepytom,
This is one of the setups that we are thinking about, but the money is not an issue.
So it doesn't have to be a cheap videomixer.
We are searching the net but we can't find videomixers with 12 inputs.
Thanks,
Patrick.

to my knowledge, there are no video mixers w/ 12 inputs.
if money truly is no concern, get 4 MX50s (or any other 4 input mixer like an MX1), 3 of which will be your 12 inputs, with each of the mixer outputs going into the 4th MX50 which will give you your main output to the beamer.
that would be insane....
as for beamer brightness...get the brightest you can afford (after buying 4 MX50's lol)...but don't bother with anything under 1,000 lumens.

Hi Levlhed,
4 MX50's does look great, but it's not the kind of setup that we would prefer...
JVC does have a videomixer that can be "upgraded" to 12 inputs (the JVC KM-5000) but we want to know of there are more "12 input mixers"
For the projector are we looking at a 2500 ANSI lumen.
Greetz,
Patrick.

Ok cool - to clarify by cheap i ment below ?10,000 if you've got a load of cash to burn then check out some of the broadcast mixers by people like grassvalley which offer up to 90 inputs
or
try the graphic switcher 2 from analogway 16 inputs but no fx or keying
realisticly if you have got loads of cash to spend then getting 4 MX50s will be a better investment in terms of usablitiy and flexablity - you could get 2 mx70s and a mx50 also wich would give you more inputs and be easyer for a small nuber of people to operate

Hi Sleepytom,
The MX70's are new to me, but it seems that this one can work out for us, I'll go check the Panasonic website for the specs.
(Hopefully we can connect two of them together)
Thanks,
Patrick.
