I just added a new "Internet" option for the format of the new video release (http://www.vjcentral.com/video) section. This means that if someone makes a video and release it only on the Internet (because it didn't have the money to make a DVD for example), it will still be possible to have it featured on VJCentral.
Also, since I don't see much additions on that new section, I want to make it clear again that the video releases don't have to be reviews. Just giving a short explaination (a couple of paragraphs) of what's on the video is fine, although telling why VJC members should view it would be a plus. Maybe I will redo my Liquid Crystal Vision review and include my personal opinion as a comment.
This means that copying promotional messages is okay (as long as it gives some explaination of what's on the video, since no one enjoys reading pure marketing crap...) and artists are allowed to add their own video releases there (you, however, don't have to be the artist to make the addition).
However please note that "video releases" means something which was released with some kind of "officiality", something which required more work than just putting a tape at the club where you were mixing last weekend. ;) Some examples of video released on the Internet which seems fine for addition could be that "Guily Party" video made by ColdCut or these videos made by network-error.com.
In short, that new section will be more a database of videos than a list of reviews, although comments can be a perfect way for everyone to give their opinion on videos :) (so don't hesitate to use it!)
Hopefully this will help VJCentral members to take some time to release videos of their work, even if it's only available on the Internet, so that we can inspire each other. In the future we may provide bandwidth for such video releases, there are talks with some members about this but it will take a while so in the meanwhile you can already benefit of having your work linked from a special place in VJCentral.
