does anyone know whether the video breakout from a matrox g400 will work on g550 ?

I dont know but i dont hear anything but horrible rants about the rtmax card from professors at my school... not many effects... not much support...

by video breakout i mean the wire that has a vga type d plug one end and comp/svid cables the other that lets u use the dual head scanconverter.
we've answered the question ourselves thru trial and error and the answer is no.

Like I have stated on another thread, those cables don't "convert the signal" it just pipes the signal produced on the grafix card out 2 of the wires/pins to an RCA plug. The VGA2composite is done on the card and sent out 2 of the wires attached to the plug.

yeah i knew that I just wanted to know whether the signal path was the same for the g400 and the g550, i was trying to set up my brothers new machine for him and he didn't recieve the breakout with it
