Just a quick note to all in attendance at AVIT. A great event in my opinion. I had reservations on the lead up but it all came together on the day and did as great job of uniting some genius minds and creativity. Well done to all involved.
This was, however, not one of my better days. Car trouble in the morning. A couple of personal issues (illness in the house, not impotence or halitosis) which prevented me from staying for the evening. (NB I do have halitosis and I am impotent but this wouldn't prevent me from staying :D ). There were so many people I wanted to talk to, especially people like Elbows and Luc (Many2) but didn't really have time to.
To add to the chaos, I collected the Hippotizer from our unit and it was configured with a custom profile to run VJanyone's two shows. This led to a rather embarassing moment in the first workshop where i set up quickly mid workshop and then ran the wrong show. To cover my arse here it WAS supposed to do that. The unit worked fine, but as usual the computer error lay between the chair and the keyboard!! i.e. ME for not checking before departure mainly due to me cranking my car over for ages and ending up with grubby hands. Nonetheless, I hope enough of you saw the unit to get a handle on where we are coming from. I am still amazed at the support we get from VJs considering the unconventional (by VJ terms) nature of what we do and the handshakes and hellos I did manage were very satisfying. Well done to Toby and team and thanks for an inspiring day.
