Lost: 1 x Power supply & cable for a LCD monitor. Probably marked "ACHME Tech Output 12V 4.5Amps" Last seen under the table to the right of ToddAVinIT's rather nice rig. Its not worth a lot but I have an unusable flat panel without it, Im happy to pay postage costs if its found.

This is for 2bitTV,
This is VJ Many-2 writing from VJ Anyone's place in London.
I was searching for a RCA to minijack adapter and someone from 2bitTV was kind enough to give me one. The problem is that I forgot to give it back (blame jetlag and lack of sleep) and I still have it.
I will give it to VJ Anyone so you can have it back if you come to London or if you come to Vectors. If it is a problem, please write to arkat@rocketmail.com and we will find a solution.
Thanks again !

So far the only thing that was pretty certainly stolen was a speaker worth ?1200, but as it was left near to a building exit at a time when anybody could walk in/out of the building so its impossible as far as I know to point the fingers in any vague direction.
I for one wont let the seedier side of human nature stain my opinion of those who were there, for the event was a tremendously communial thing not really plagued by the faults of the human condition.

I have to unfortunatly agree. The state of play in todays world is that you have to label everything and check it in and out. Althoigh a IEC (kettle lead) or XLR may not seem much, they all add up and you end up loosing a lot of cash.
If it's any help to anybody, the way at SRD Group that we mark our cables is to use a lable printer (made by dymo i think!?!?!) and then secure them with clear heat-shrink on each plug or cable (only if there is no possible way to mark the plug). It looks very pro, is not too expensive and beats permanent marker scrawling any day!

Seriously people, public events are a danger! The work on lableing / checklists / checking are so worth it! It cost me alot of money in DSC/cables/carts to realise that! Dont let it happen to you!

Perhaps its the old hand in me, but all to often ppl are not what they seem. Those who are new to multi crewed events have been known to take advantage of the apparent confusion and make a point of accidently wandering off with equipment that they can blame on being lifted by their helpers.
Seems this thread too has to go into opinion city????
Thought it might be helpful for those people who shared equipment etc to hook up with others.
I would like to say that all ppl "present" where not in confusion and more to the point, worked very much in symbiosis and acted with responsibility for all the AVIT crews and their equipment.
For god's sake, there are old hands at work here too!
As for a monitor missing being suss: I supplied either of 2 rigs an output monitor, for logistics they were asked to keep it safe which is what they did. They have now contacted me and thats that.
Jesus........seems I should be counting the 3 BNC adapters I gave to ppl, y'know the ones with nail polish all over em.
.......or maybe that is best on a hardware tip thread

May I sugegst that this thread is edited. Its purpose is as an informative thread so that those at the event can list equipment that has drifted around.
If its full of opinon, advice and general musings on how much to trust people, mixed with a smattering of self-serving "how could you be so naive" type crap then the usefulness of the post in solving specific property issues is severely compromised.

Just going through some of the cables in my studio and found an ACHME CORP AC Adapter, model AM149B.
Not mine, but my assistant could have packed it up from a recent gig, possibly AVIT. If it belongs to someone here, let me know and I'll post it (or hook up with you if you're in London or somewhere I'm playing soon).

hey, is it a USA-type, 110 volt adapter? I can't remeber the specs, but its for my Tenlab PAL/NTSC converter...I suspect it was the only American adapter lost @ AVIT....
