As nice as that picture is, it really doesn't do justice to the phenominal-head-fuck-visual-stimuli-overload that was there. That is only a view of one half of the 2 (almost) full circles of screen/projections. I counted 15 video projecters, 6-8 slide projectors, a 16mm projecter and a couple of oil wheel type lights. (note the lack of scanners and lasers and other sensless lampy shit...hence no lampys or fog for that matter).
At almost any view point in the place one could see at least 3 or 4 different projections with out turning your head.

truly amazing.

thanks to all that came and make this thing go off.

Its so nice to be able to finally attach ugly faces to the sensless screen names.

Yeah, it was reall y amazing to see a room as big as the corn exchange, with not a single spot light, nolights at all in fact...

And it WAS nice to look converse IRL for a change...
wouldnt have missed it for any paying gig...;)

I saw 1 light coming of the rig next to the matrix, but NE1 you are right. Hopefully this will help promoters to spend more money on us, and less on lasers. AVIT showed not just what can be done, but how differently people can do it. Can't wait to see what DJ magazine make of it, or if there is any other press for it.

I'd also be interested to know what Most Wanted/Technique organisers felt about the day, and whether the DJs enjoyed what we were doing to their music. If so, it is time to get DJs pushing promoters to have live visuals. Imagine if Oakenfold, Carl Cox, Freq Nasty, Grooverider etc. started saying that they would not do gigs without a live VJ for them....

That was no light, but one of those new style video projector scanners. Built by myself and AlwaysB/APT.
We had noticed the crowd seemed a bit more static than usual and thought that the hypnotic flashing light syndrome was missing.
We were wrong the crowd where dancing, it was just the fact the walls where dancing even more that gave that impression.

Sorry Dan,
I was having a joke about our efforts to source some lighting, so we came up with the idea of a beamer stuck on the rig with Gaffa.
Always be prepared to go DIY.
There was a lad called Jonno/2 Bit.tv with slide projectors who was also using them as a searchlight around the upper roof of the dome.
Thanks too, Rod/Bubble Vision for filling the other spaces with a plethora of slides/projections.

thanks from me and my friends for the massive amount of quality organisation on the ground and the work put in by everyone.

i was gutted to turn up late and miss all the discussion stuff in the afternoon. but seeing what everyones doing at night and meeting likeminded people was truely brilliant.

for me a lot of ideas and excitement came away from the night. i think the night confirms that we are on the cusp of an explosion.
