Over the New Zealand summer we handle the coordination for visuals of several large outdoor events where we use multiple VJs - normally we only use New Zealand based VJs but this summer we are gonna give it the big push for importing a few foreigners...who in turn can "wow" everyone.....
If you would be up to coming to New Zealand to do some VJing then send me some info.....(Our summer is December 2002 - march 2003)

assiduous@xtra.co.nz

This is the kinda info I need to know.....(it dosnt have to be in this format)
*general
-where are u based?
-How long in the mix?
-VJs // visual crews you have worked alongside.
-Djs // bands // clubs you have worked with
-relavent other experience..ie designer - film editor or whatever
*content and music
-How would you descibe your content?
-Is it purely video/ data or does it contain audio?
-What is your preferred genre of music to work to? (these are multi genre partys , Mostly DJs, some bands but no rock)
-can/would you work to a brief?
*hardware
-how do you typically deliver your "VJ set" ie all vhs or Vhs and PC or all PC etc
-what would you require as a setup? ie mixers vhs dvd etc
-what would you bring with you? ie laptop or special hardware....
*time and money
-how long is your preferred set?
-amount in $NZD (US43cents) you would expect for this set
-Would you require flights / travel and accomodation?
-if so - from where?
-How flexible are you on the above?
-what time of year would you be available (dec-march but if other, still put it down as other alternatives also arise)
-any other expenses?
*links contact
-website??
-email
-other websites you are on or reviews etc...

*plus anything else worth bragging about as when it comes down to it, I gotta Pitch this to several promoters....so they wanna be impressed...

*I'm not looking for a particular kind of VJ so dont be shy or too modest....
(sounds like a cheesy dating show)...lol

all cool n that warp... but what i believe whats goin on in this country, and not to be a downner on the situation, but promotors here i believe wouldnt spend a couple o thousand $ to pull in a international vj. its hard enough for them to cover costs let alone pay a international vj. most big promotors here still think vjing is a expensive dinosaur..

but if you can swing it big ups to you bro..

I hear ya edible - but I also hear peoples crys for new Ideas as the tried and tested seems to be getting stale - I also hear a move towards getting more live acts - and I see promoters starting to pay attention to what is possible with a "good" vj performance...... I feel something can be done....But in saying that, I also hope as well as "international" VJs, we can get some interest from some VJs who are travelling and want to Drop by New Zealand - we had a German Film editor at destination this year who just turned up - we found him some time and away he went....I want to push the New Zealand visual scene ,hopefully bringing some outsiders in, it can inspire and give extra life to the VJs already working here and in turn give others a look at where we are at in new zealand.
I have partied in many countries and the production here due to our DIY culture is a very good standard but we need to always progress.

Basically - if we dont try it'll never happen...And maybe you are right maybe they (promoters) wont fork out the extra money now BUT IF not now they will eventually they' see the light...(or is that the screen :D)

I think that a very good A/V act would pobably be more feasable... that said, I hope that you can make something happen, and I would love to see Vj's going international.. also Maybe a big-name DJ working a tour with a VJ would be able to convince the promoters...

We've got that exact thing happening this summer, starting July 26th. We're touring with a big producer/dj, a drummer, and a vocalist, and building quite the stage act out of it. If any of you promoters are interested, email me and I'll tell ya all about it...

Some friends of mine who have moved to NZ this year are going to marry in october. They want me there but I cant afford it at this stage. If you would have a gig that around that time that could pay part of the flight that would be wonderful, if not i'm still interested in doing something in your summer. Hope to find some time soon to fill you in on some details

Hi waveTV
i would like to travel.
my profile will answer most of your questions but i'll send you a privet email with some more details as i don't think they are interesting to everybody on the forum...
I am based in Germany, and i really would like to see what VJing is going on in other countries !
i just needed to know, if there would be enough gigs to pay for the stay, as i don't have enough money, to pay for such a trip myself...
