Hi guys/gals
i'm going to make some pre-made sets for some clubs soon. the material will be on dvd is there anyway i can make the dvds time out or expire, iknow its a bit of a long shot.

Also what is the deal with copyright, if i add "copyright2004 no-signal communications" to each DVD with a notice that the dvd expires after ??? date and should not be used after the date shown, will this be legaly binding, should i get a contractual agreement drawn up that the promoter has to sign?

cheers mossy

There WAS a plan to have expiring DVDs sold at Circuit City so people didn't have to return rentals. I think they were called X-DVD or something. As far as I know there was never a consumer way to burn them. Good idea tho.

Short of putting an enormous BEST OF 2003! every 10 minutes so it immediately feels dated, I think there is more chance that someone will loose the dvd before the contract expires.

I sugest you make a contract, and define the exact date of expire. make a contract and note that before you sart producing it you have the advantage in negotiation, becouse the promotor wants something from you, after you dliver you will be very lucky to get a contract signed.

Also try to include the price for the next year or two for the same dvd, this way you can make a long term deal with one contract. You can also make a deal to provide one dvd each year and offer a discount for like three dvds.
