It's a new VJ tool I'm working on at the moment called Neuromixer Vdrum. Basically it's an AV step sequencer, unlike any software out there, you can also sequence video. The goal is to introduce a new way of thinking as a visual artist, resulting an intuitive way to create music videos. Feel free to check the site and leave your comments here.

With Neuromixer Vdrum you can:
-Sequence up to 64 steps
-Have 10 banks of AV clips
-Adjust BPM
-View one of 10 video banks per step
-Save your sequence into a file
-Audio and video effects
-Will available for Mac and PC

Looks interesting!

We're currently using ableton live 4 along with VJ software to do this kind of thing.

The most important feature for us to consider using this would be midi sync. Any plans to implement midi clock sync?

Dan.

way to be on top of demand Fader! <props>
I like how close your sketch is to your finished product. I work this way too... I keep my sketches for ages, you never know when something will become relevant again :)

PS. if you haven't, check out Fruity Loops an audio step seq. I'm curious if your SSeq. will have an auto-chop function... roughly the idea goes like this: auto chop enabled would trim the beginning and end of the clip so that it fits into a certian length, w/o changing its speed. otherwise I'd assume the "meat"/action of the clip wouldn't get played or it'd be hyperspeed. maybe a Play-Through option... so the playhead stays @ the last spot it was until it is triggered again? *DAMN* custom software ROCKS!

maybe I should slow down, smoke a bowl and lay off the psytrance and I could think about video that didn't change more than 70 times a sec...... naaaaaw!

Sounds great! I was just trying to do a similar (but not realtime) thing in Vegas 5, and was wishing for a better tool. Let me know if you need some beta testin'

For now, you can edit the Out point of the clip by using a slider (see attached pic). This way you can adjust the cut-off of your sample.

I did play with Fruity Loops, thought it was very inspirational. It's a very involved music program with tones of audio effects and editing capabilities. So Vdrum would be just a starting point for experimenting with new ways of working, using AV samples to create finished pieces. The key is to have a library of AV samples to choose from. But who's ganna create them? guys like you and me.

LOL, it's abvious that different drugs serve different purposes. I went to a couple of Psytrance parties, didn't enjoy the music so couldn't get into the scene. Music plays a big role on what we do.

nice solution to the I/O points... curiously, why not an In one too? (vDrum v######...) ;)

I've got some awesome a/v samples out of Perversion For Profit 1&2 , perhaps (if they fit) I'll put them up on http://www.vjcutup.tk/ if not... well yeah, check the films, they're from the Prelinger Archives.
"Deviants have always been with mankind"

anyone familiar with Max Headroom (TM[R]) BlipVerts, can follow here: short (<30 frames) stuccatto clips with imbedded/relevant sounds. ie colorwashes w/ rhythms, sparkles/splashes w/ hihat/highs, foregrounds w/ beat/bass, backgrounds w/ rhythms, body shots w/ organic sounds, Techy clips w/ techno babble.... so many image patterns have relevant sonic patterns. how many times has a VJ played a water drop clip w/o the "Drip, Drip"??

RE: trance
as with all things, some's good, some's not.
what do you usually VJ to? I usually do house music (120-130 bpm) but on a personal lvl listen to either ambient jazzy chill stuff or broken beats/jungle/trance/industrial/harsh.
