Hey,

Go two projectors in the club. Both epson Powerlite S1's.

One of them recently has been throwing off a blurry white fuzz around the image. We moved the projectors a few months ago to a new location but I have a feeling that the fog pipes were blowing almost directly in to the bad projector ( I didn't set it up that way).

I got a gumption that fog juice/cig smoke has condensed on the LCD or the lens and that is what is giving me the blur effect.

I don't want to send it in to get it cleaned because the club doesn't want to pay for it. (thats what I have to deal with in Michigan...)

My question is have any of you had experience cleaning projector's LCD, lenses, general cleaning.

I would be most thankful.

I've only ever cleaned lenses, with the correct alchol that you can buy at photographic stores. (Or the chemistry lab if you know exactly what you're doing).

This alcohol has the property of disolving the dirt, allowing you to remove it from the surface without force (scratching) and any remaining alcohol evaporates away.

It seems friendly to glass and plastic but I can't promise that it won't react with any special coatings that have been applied to your prisms or lcd panel.

You will need to do it. Take all the lenses apart one by one and clean them good. Its hard work but your projector will be like new.

Do you know of any walk throughs for this. I really dont want to mess any thing up.

I still belive that the LCD is fogged too and I want to try to rock that out as well.
