can I hook up a DM2 as well as another MIDI controller (Peavey)... I'm using a Maudio USB>MIDI from the Peavey>Laptop, but would like to get some use out of this DM2. Just wondering if windoZe/Arkaos will recognize both or if I should just put them on their own machines or if they'd play nicely together on the same machine...

should work, if ur vj apps can manage two midi in ports.
just run the peavey tru another port on a virtual midi router,
(midiyoke, hubis loopback) and u'Re done

on the the other hand there's this:
"DM2MIDI supports midi merging. You can either merge all incoming MIDI data or only the MIDI data that hasn't been processed by DM2MIDI. See the 'MIDI thru' section in the 'MIDI Input' settings to enable MIDI merging. "
but i haven't tried that yet

I'm assuming this does what it says... no idea the difference the two modes make tho.

...if I had a freakin' day off I would just test this, but as it is, it's back into photoshop/premiere w/ me.

I was hoping I could run the Peavey without having to add it into MIDIyoke, as the whole yoke>DM2MIDI is already starting to tax my time/MIDI knowledge... what better way to learn tho eh? :)

Yep, pdoom's DM2MIDI program allows for MIDI thru from a single MIDI in port. I just tested this yesterday with my 1600x, MIDISport 2x2 and DM2. It worked flawlessly. Pdoom writes awesome software that is robust, responsive and functional. If you use DM2MIDI, please donate to the cause.

The cool thing about using the DM2 to control Movie speed of your VJ app is you can make the movie go back to normal playback speed automatically after you are done scratching. This behavior is closer to the behavior of a normal turntable.
