it's true that films are copyrighted totally and partially, but what happens if you edit a short loop and modify it? i mean, can an artist modification on a short loop change the copyright policy?.. in fact, it's your own artist creation.
Otherwise, the finality of the loop it's different to which was created. Do the discos pay copyright for the music they're playing?
thnx

The copyright on a video clip is automaticly assigned to the camera operator (the person that made the clip). That copyright must be signed over to the producer or production company. Effecting or editing the clip does not change it's copyright.
Discos pay a licensing fee to the record industry.

Copyright states any modifications of the orginal is the violation.
Disco's pay a heavy fee to play copyrighted music. Did you know that playing a movie (DVD, VHS, Laser Disc) to a group larger than 10 people violates copyrights (at least here is the states).

PD: Sorry for my spanish rant!!!

videoteque, por desgracia si que conozco la politica de SGAE, pero confio que almenos nos dejen hacer las sesiones en paz. Buena idea la tactica que propones
english: SGAE is the spanish society which controls the author's and editor's copyrights... sometimes the behave really like the gestapo.
example: in spain, if you buy a CD-R/RW you pay a tax to SGAE, no matter what you burn in there, and now they want to charge the HDU's.
sgae sucks.

If they used money in an intellingent and pro-cultural way, I wouldnt' have any problem to pay taxes to them. But they use the money to grow their alreay big incomes... :( :( :(
