Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie to the whole AV thang, so please forgive me if this has been asked already.
I've been Djing for a long time but I'm now getting into live AV stuff. I'm looking for News archives (web sites, library links etc) from where I can pick up Video samples for a politically orientated piece I'm working on at the moment. Any and all help/advice appreciated.

Cheers.

You can pick up old public domain footage from archive.org that has plenty of newreel type stuff in it, as for new news, not to sure there :(

You might want to have a scout around indymedia.org
I don't know if they have a film archive, but they have a hughe amount of political footage/news there.

Why not capture news from your TV directly? It is more mainstream but you will probably find some interesting stuff if you can bear to watch it long enough :p

Most news and videoactivism sites have videos in a really low realaudio format and probably won't look too good when projected (I asked a few videoactivism sites if they could put higher resolution movies for VJs but it doesn't seem it has been done). Anyway there are some links at the page below, including places where you can buy political video tapes.
