OK folks if you were recomending a club with a big budget for a mixer setup what would you recommend. (I may be suggesting for a club the other side of the world)

The 'standard' MX50 I presume you cannot buy anymore.

But if we are going to be more professional (or just wasting money :)) about it would is the latest out there you would recommend.

I dunno what is available in the ?2-3,000 ($3-4,500) price braket and what is available for the say ?5-6,000 ($8-9,000) price range.

What about more.

And for a VJ point of view can these mixers do quickly switching feeds. I think Red said that the MX50 better than some other panasonic ones as you get a delay on them switching feeds. Is this correct?

And what produces a decent res - I am thinking XVGA 1024x768.

So in short what is the most boysee mixer out there folks.

Where is VJ2012FX when you need him.:);)

hello rova,

the mx-50 seems to be still available. check

products > editing

the mx-70 seems not to be featured yet - maybe the next step (with optional fx board), but maybe it's unusable for our needs. who knows, we're waiting for the first review :)

the mixers of choice for installation have to be

panasonic mx50 - as close to an industry standard as your likely to get still available new from pannasonic

panasonic mx70 - new and better - does widescreen and 3d transitions and effects - disadvantages nobody know how to work it - brand new might have probelms

Sony make a range on mixers which are much better than the panasonics but again theres an ease of use issue also a lot of the better ones (from a vjing point of view) are out of production

other than that theres a large range of video mixers available but all of them fall down by not having the ease of use of the pannasonics.

to get better than video res (ie xga mixing) is possable but very expensive - the only thing that mixes at high res and has a actual tbar is the falsom research screen pro with an external controller unit - this thing costs a packet and again suffers from an ease of use point of view but it can mix 16 inputs of 1600x1200 !!

what's this mx-70 bizniz.
I don't see it on pana site or anywhere on the web for that matter. Probably out of my league anyway.

Did I mention someone I know is developing a mixer that mixes 4 channels at a time? meaning it works similar to a normal one but mixes 4 channels into 4 other channels so you can drive 4 beamers at a time. That too will be out of my league.
