hi

I got two new scanconverters and have some big trouble with that

1. is a Trust Televiewer that supports 640 x 480, 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768 resolutions

2. is a Trust Televiewer 1610 RC (with remotecontrol) and supports up to 1600 x 1200 resoluton

both supports 60 to 120 Hz.

Now the problem is when i use various software for vj-ing it sometime gives out some stripes on the screen thats very poor and comes and goes some time ...

I thought it is because the playback_framerate goes under a range of 25 frames/sec. ?

anyone has a tip for me ?

thanx

Linus

I own a Trust 1600 and have never experienced any problems with it, so I'm going to take a bit of a stab in the dark on this one.
If the scan convertor supports refresh rates from 60 to 120hz, have you checked that you're not operating your videocard outside these ranges? Or would this just result in garbage output anyway? As I said - a bit of wild guess, but worth a look.

Im not exactly captain scanconverter but I dont understand how lower framerate of the output of VJ software on your pc could affect the scanconverter - your PC is still outputting vga at the same freqency regardless of how many fps the software is actually outputting.

elbows is right... the scan lines you see are common to a lot of scan converters, the vinegen corioscan being the only reasonably priced exception I know of. (at $300) But that's limited to 1024x768. I should do a proper review of it for the site, I'd never buy anything else anymore.

er, at least if this is a small line going horizontally down or up the screen kinda slowish, if this isn't that, I dunno... Many scan converters advertise 60-120hz support, but only actually support the higher frequencies on their lower resolutions. Try lowering the refresh rate on your video card.
